Bide the Wiccan Law ye must,

In perfect love and perfect trust.

Eight words the Wiccan Rede fullfil;

An’ ye harm none, do what ye will.

What ye send forth comes back to thee,

So ever mind the Rule of Three.

Follow this with mind and heart.

Merry ye meet and merry ye part.

Simply put, the Wiccan Rede expresses that all actions have consequences. There is a longer of the Wiccan Rede also. My personal opinions are in line with the rules of:

The more you want out of life, the more you need to put into it.

Olympic athletes put in the hours to get to the Olympics. They just simply say “Hey, if I just walk into the games. I will win the gold.” Not happening. Don’t care how good you think you are.

If you are a Negative Nancy (or Ned) and that is how you see the world that is all you will get.

The best part of the Wiccan Rede is the multiplicity of ways we may understand it. It is important for any Wiccan to know and see this attraction. At the same time, it is important for any believer of the Rede to know its limitations. Appreciation for all of this is a basis that all those who claim to be Wiccan should employ in practice and also in principle.

This Wiccan law works equally well with positive choices. This is why I so believe in surrounding myself with positive people and avoiding the negative ones as much as possible. Even if it’s family members.
